Perfumer
Laurent Bruyere
Since childhood, Laurent Bruyere displayed an insatiable curiosity, always eager to understand how things were made beyond their surface appearance. This inquisitiveness led him to study Biochemistry, a pursuit he completed successfully. At 16, during his academic journey, he discovered his passion for perfumery, inspired by watching a lady blend ingredients to create an Eau de Cologne.
Laurent embarked on a self-taught exploration of the greatest fragrances of the past, striving to recreate and reinterpret them while introducing new olfactory concepts. His career flourished through collaborations with other master perfumers, including his mentor Dominique Ropion, during his tenure with IFF. Together, they crafted iconic fragrances that have left an indelible mark on the industry.
Distinctive note
Mother-of-pearl hibiscus flower
Smell: Floral, jasmine-like, fruity
Origin: As the national flower of Hawaii and Malaysia, Hibiscus is a genus within the Malvaceae family, comprising around 300 species of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. Hibiscus Trionum, native to Africa, produces cream-white flowers with a striking purple center.
Extraction: Due to its resistance to traditional extraction methods, the essence of the mother-of-pearl hibiscus is captured using the sophisticated Living™ technique, preserving its delicate and unique fragrance profile.
